This was another of those pieces that probably sat in the thrift store for months because of the condition it was in.  Wood peeling off the top, cracks in the leg,  just over all in terrible condition, but I saw hope!  I sanded it down fixed the cracks and filled in the holes and now it's ready for another lifetime of use!  I used lime green for the color then sanded all the edges and added some brown for an aged look.  Then the whole table has been sealed for durability!

At first I saw this table and thought, pretty traditional.  I liked the unique features like the spindle legs and the lazy susan attached top, so I knew I could do something pretty cool with it!  I decided to add some straight angles in white to the top to break up all the round edges, and then use this great teal color that I haven't used before.  I wanted  to just refinish the lazy susan back to its natural wood to contrast with the paint, and bam, a glamourous funky take on traditional!

I am very excited to announce our first collaboration with artist Jason Wyatt Frederick.  JWFrederick is an illustrator, designer, print maker, musician, father, spouse plus actor living in Chicago.  He has worked for RCA records, ATO records, The History Channel, TLC, and his illustrations have appeared regularly in The Chicago Reader.  
I have been a big fan of Jason's work, and wanted to collaborate with him on works that feature some of District's past pieces done in his artist style.  This is the first of a series of 3 limited edition prints.  
This screen print features a rendition of District's 6 drawer Mid Century Modern dresser.  Perched on top of the dresser is an original owl design by Jason in beautiful gold metallics.   
This is the first piece of a set of 3 limited edition hand screened prints signed and numbered edition of 25.  You read this right, there are only 25 of these available, so act quick!  Print Size is 18 X 24 unframed.  Click on photos below to enlarge.

From drab to fab! I love the long, sleek Mid Century Modern legs on this ottoman, but the old vinyl had to go.  A lot of you loved this fabric when I used it on the vintage dish chair a couple months back.  Well here it is again! Recognize this?  It's a Mid Century Modern coffee Table by Paul McCobb.  His Planner Group, manufactured by Winchendon Furniture Company, was among the best selling contemporary furniture lines of the 1950s and was in continuous production from 1949 until 1964.  Such a treat to be able to refinish a piece of history!
